- I have successfully used US rated modems in the UK, and many other
- countries; I have had any problems whatsoever. The standard init string
- had been used throughout. Try faxing, if that works you should be O.K.

- There may be a problem with the cable you are using. I remember a problem
- in Hong Kong where the cable I needed (same U.K. jacks and phone system)
- was reverse wired (a U.S. - U.K. adaptor would not work), I can╣t remember
- if this was the case in the U.K. or if I had just used the same cable. In
- any case you may want to visit a local computer store to make sure you
- have the right cable.
